The civil war started in SL started March, 23, 1991 when Revolutionary United Front (RUF) with the help of Charles Taylor's National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) they attempted to overthrow the Momoh government.This is the main reason the gruesome 11 year civil year war began.The war left over 50,000 dead.In the first year of war RUF took control of large parts of eastern and southern.
